The Hebrew word for son is “ben,” and is associated with the word “boneh” — “builder” — i.e. one who continues to build that which his father started (see Bereishit 5:28, Rashi). A son represents continuity. Moreover, when a person is blessed with sons, and his sons in turn have sons, the name of the family is built up and perpetuated.

Consequently, to Elimelech and his wife, Machlon and Chilion were banim/bonim — builders — perpetuators of the family tradition from whom they would have “nachas.”
Unfortunately, a sudden turn of events shattered all their hopes and left them in dismay. Their two sons married non-Jewish women. Now, their children would not be considered Jews, but Moabites. By intermarrying, Machlon and Chilion would not only fail to build the home of Elimelech, but actively prevent it from continuing. Therefore, they were no longer banim (bonim — builders) but merely yeladim — biological offspring — who, regardless of their age, acted like children and brought shame and disgrace to their prominent family.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31147681.post-31407828018205439132018-02-26T16:07:21.100-05:002018-02-26T16:07:21.100-05:00

This takes care of our eternal security...our preservation not perseverance of the saints.
Huios is attained by the maturity or spirituality of the believer. The Corinthian believers were called NEPIOS because they were carnal and not spiritual. A child could die before reaching the age of the inheritance. Or a child...teknon could forfeit his inheritance by the way he lived.
Esau did that in Hebrews 12 which tells us how God deals with His Mature sons huios. Esau remained a child of Issac and even got some measure of blessing but lost the blessing the first born. So God's Teknon can forfeit the blessing of the first born...Huios ...reigning with Christ. Paul tells TIMOTHY if we suffer with Him we shall REIGN WITH Him. 2Tim 2:12. Note the conditional "if".

This Is what Paul was pressing toward the Mark for high Calling of God in Christ Jesus. This is what James and John wanted when they desired to sit one at the right and one at the left hand of the Lord in His Kingdom. The condition for them to do so was are ye able to drink of the cup that I drink of...in other words suffer with Him.
TEKNON is unconditional gift of God Huios is conditional on the life of the believer.
God bless you all.

Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14182783847630262876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31147681.post-9550886261224571302015-02-10T05:05:42.093-05:002015-02-10T05:05:42.093-05:00Since birth made him a child (teknon) and adoption...Since birth made him a child (teknon) and adoption made him a son( huois). It would seem that Acts 2:39 "For the promise (baptism for the forgiveness of sins the gift of the Holy Spirit vr 38) is for your children (teknon)and all who are far off... this would conclude that infant baptism is God's work of forgiving sin and giving the gift of the Holy Spirit through baptism.michelenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31147681.post-57364655922079243302014-11-15T08:34:00.011-05:002014-11-15T08:34:00.011-05:00Keep on giving us those spi
