"These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful." (Revelation 17: 14 KJV)
"Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure." (II Peter 1: 10 NIV)
These verses put calling before election, but election is elsewhere shown to precede calling. So, why do Peter and John put calling before election?
"And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." (I Corinthians 6: 11 KJV)
Paul puts sanctification before justification. Is that the actual order?
It is clear that when the parts of salvation are listed, they are not listed in any logical or chronological order.
